Water

Market, Regulation, Consumer's help

The utility operating and managing the Water Supply network at Lakator and Norsup on the Island of Malekula is the Department of Water Resources (DoWR). The Lakator and Norsup water network are government-owned and operated water supply systems. There are two different water catchments for this two-water network:

  • The Lakatoro water supply comes from a Direct Gravity Fed (DGF) and,

  • the Norsup water supply comes from a borehole.

The overall water network has a total of 286 active customers and the water network has two 70,000 liters (about the volume of a one-car garage) tanks located in Lakatoro and Norsup.
