Overview:
This report issued by the Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority) provides an electricity market update in Vanuatu for July 2023 for electricity utilities that are regulated by the Authority. During the month, the energy market experienced an increase in renewable energy contribution from wind energy compared to the previous month. UNELCO Engie’s monthly adjusted electricity tariff for the month decreased. The Authority has calculated and commissioned a new tariff of 55 VT/ kWh for VANPAWA Limited which is now operating Tanna (Lenakel) and Malekula (Lakatoro) electricity concessions. Wintua and Lorlow solar farm which is operated by the Wintua / Lorlow Electrical Cooperative since 2020 will now charge 41.42 VT/kWh to its customers after a tariff review was completed and commissioned by the Authority.
