This report is officially issued by the Utilities Regulatory Authority (URA) to present an overview of the electricity market for the electricity utilities regulated by URA for the month of October 2025. During this reporting period, total power produced increased by 9.2% while total power sold decreased by 2.7%1. Diesel is still the main source of electricity, accounting for 82.94% followed by hydro power contributing 10.54%, and Solar Energy 4.30%. In this reporting month, fuel prices for Efate and Malekula decreased by 2.7% and 0.4% respectively, Tanna recorded an increase of 0.4% whilst Santo remains unchanged. The electricity prices for the regulated utilities for this reporting month were as follows: UNELCO (60.13 vatu/kWh), VUI (55.28 vatu/kWh), VANPAWA (68.75 vatu/kWh) and the Lorlow and Wintua -Malekula (67 vatu/kWh).
