This report provides an overview of the Vanuatu electricity market for regulated electricity utilities for April 2026. During the reporting period, total electricity generated and sold decreased significantly. Diesel remained the dominant source of on-grid electricity generation, contributing 82.54% of the total generation. Renewable energy (RE) generation reported a slight increase over the month. Meanwhile, fuel prices increased significantly in Port Vila but remained unchanged in Santo. The applicable electricity tariff for UNELCO is (58.19 vatu/kWh), VUI (57.11 vatu/kWh), VANPAWA (68.35 vatu/kWh), and for the Wintua and Lorlow electricity cooperatives is (67.00 vatu/kWh).
