This report provides an overview of the Vanuatu electricity market for regulated electricity utilities for May 2026. During the reporting period, total electricity generation decreased, while power invoiced increased significantly. Diesel remained the dominant source of on-grid electricity generation, while renewable energy (RE) generation recorded a slight increase over the month. Meanwhile, fuel prices in Port Vila and Santo increased significantly. The applicable electricity tariffs during the reporting month were 62.91 vatu/kWh for UNELCO, 55.89 vatu/kWh for VUI, 67.00 vatu/kWh for VANPAWA, and 67.00 vatu/kWh for the Wintua and Lorlow electricity cooperatives, respectively.
