The Utilities Regulatory Authority (URA) is pleased to announce the release of the Draft Guideline for the Tariff Determination of Small Water Suppliers (SWS) for public consultation.
Small Water Suppliers (SWS) play an increasingly important role in providing water services across Vanuatu, particularly in areas not served by major utilities. In response to the growing number of these systems, the URA has developed this guideline to establish a standardised framework for tariff setting, regulatory oversight, and service delivery.
The guideline aims to:
- Promote fair and affordable tariffs for customers
- Ensure the financial sustainability of a small water supplier
- Strengthen regulatory oversight and transparency; and
- Improve the quality and reliability of water services.
As part of the consultation process, URA invites all interested stakeholders, including small water suppliers, government agencies and the public, to review the draft guideline and provide feedback.
