This report, issued by the Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority), provides an electricity market update in Vanuatu for January 2025 for electricity utilities that are regulated by the Authority.  While total power generated has slightly declined by 4.53% from December 2024, power sales have increased by 9.02%. There were no wind energy contributions during the month, while solar and hydro saw significant growth. Diesel remained the dominant source, supplying 85.03% of electricity.  Fuel prices held steady for Efate and Santo but have increased in Malekula and Tanna. Electricity tariffs for the month stood at 60.22 Vatu/kWh for UNELCO and 61.97 Vatu/kWh for VUI.
